Sitting in a dark room on an unmade bed that was not hers, without oxygen, medication, her belongings, and with no family sat a woman clenching a small grocery bag with a couple items crying. When I walked into the room she recognized me and desperately asked for help. She didn’t know what to do. It was right then and there that I vowed that no Senior on my watch would ever have to go through that tough transition alone. It was this dear Senior and so many others with stories similar to hers that the vision of Guiding Light Senior Care was born.

In my years of working in the healthcare field I have experienced and seen a lot. I have seen things that I am not okay with and decided I was going to make a difference. We can learn so much from the Seniors in our lives and in our community. If we take the time to listen and learn from them. Reminiscing of earlier times and listening to their stories can bring us so much joy and the memories of the things they share can live within us long after they are gone. Life is beautiful. The importance of preserving those memories and having loved ones care managed and taken care of so that you can spend quality time with your loved one is important to us here at Guiding Light Senior Care. We can strengthen and uplift during this often tumultuous and stressful time (time of uncertainty) of not knowing what to do or how to care for our aging loved ones. At GLSC we provide personalized one on one in home assessments so that we can best understand these needs. This service allows us to more fully understand their situation and the criteria that is required.
Our goal is to help you understand what the best options are for your loved one. Whether that is independent living at home, with supervision, or assisted living in a facility. Our assessment helps to identify and explain all options that may be available and help with either placement or in home care. After placement, we follow up with regular visits to ensure they receive the most important items like proper medical supervision, physical comforts and activities, proper nutrition and diet.
